1. Goubert Avenue -Goubert Avenue is a mute witness to Pondicherry's colonial past and its passage through the ages. Once the ceremonial heart of French Pondicherry, this coastal boulevard was a strategic and symbolic stretch lined with administrative buildings, colonial residences, and monuments of imperial pride. At the moment, its historical character is accentuated by monuments such as the French War Memorial, honoring the World War I soldiers, and the Old Lighthouse, a 19th-century aid to maritime navigation. 2. Sri Aurobindo Ashram - This ashram founded in 1926 by freedom fighter-turned-yogi Sri Aurobindo and his spiritual companion The Mother grew into a hub for all intellectual and spiritual ideas during the era of British colonialism. This 1926 edifice opens its doors into an eternal sanctuary that has physical ties to the early twentieth century. It embodies all those idealistic transformative figures of Sri Aurobindo, who was once a nationalist and became a philosopher while keeping in harmony with the spiritual insights of the Mother, a French national who cherished India's spiritual atmosphere. Best Time To Visit - August  

3. Black Town - Roam about into the mazy by-lanes of Black Town-the erstwhile Tamil Quarter-and you are travelling into some history predating the city planning of White Town. What a buzzing neighbourhood this is: it embodies centuries of Tamil culture, serving as the backdrop to the elaborate Manakula Vinayagar Temple, one of the precious remnants of pre-French colonization. This complex structure is known for its blessings through elephants and adorned colouring on its walls. The Bharathidasan Museum, formerly the residence of the eminent Tamil poet and activist, offers a travel of Tamil literature and the spirit of defiance that defined this historic place long before colonial apocryphals entered. Best Time To Visit - November to February

4. Auroville - Auroville, the "City of Dawn," emerges as a distinctive chapter, ts foundation laid in 1968 upon the visionary ideals of Mirra Alfassa, reverently known as "The Mother". Conceived as a bold endeavor in human unity, transcending the divisive constructs of creed, politics, and nationality, Auroville's early history is etched with the symbolic gesture of soil from 124 nations converging upon its nascent grounds. Best Time To Visit - October to February 

Important Note - While travelling in the Summer season, make sure you carry a medically teasted sunscreem and polarised sungloogle for protecting from the harsh sun. Moreover, if travelling from your own vehicle, check the gas pressure in the tyres to avoid any tyre blasts (something that happpened with us). Don't forget to get hydrated regularly to avoid any chances of headaces and vomiting.
